2. Collection, Processing and Use of Personal Data

2.1 Personal Data

Personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (Article 4(1) GDPR).

This includes in particular your name, email address, telephone number, address, date of birth, as well as various master data that you provide in the context of an online order, a registration, the creation of a customer account or an enquiry submitted via the contact form (hereinafter referred to as “personal data”).

Statistical data that we collect for technical reasons when you visit our website, and which is anonymised and therefore cannot be directly linked to you as a person, is not covered by this Privacy Policy. Such statistical data includes information about the number of visits you make to our website, the time spent on our site, the pages you visit, information about your browser, IP address, software and hardware characteristics. This information is collected and treated in anonymised form in order to understand how our website is used and to optimise it accordingly. Where such data is collected through cookies or similar technologies, we provide further information in our Cookie Policy.

2.2 Collection, Processing and Use of Your Personal Data

In general, it is possible to use our websites without entering personal data. Where our websites collect personal data, this is done on a voluntary basis wherever possible.

In particular, we collect and process the following categories of personal data for the purposes set out below:

2.2.1 For Our Business Relationship

We collect and process your name, address, purchases and similar necessary personal data in order to maintain the business relationship between us, for example to respond to your enquiry, to process the agreement concluded with you, to deliver ordered goods, to process payments or for technical administration. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, as it is necessary for the performance of contracts with you. We may have received your data via an email address provided on our website or via the contact form on our website.

We retain this personal data for as long as our business relationship exists. If there are no transactions between us for a period of three years, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, unless we are legally required to retain it for a longer period. Where cookies or similar technologies are used in connection with your use of our website, such processing takes place exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

2.2.2 Creating a Profile in Our Database

When you contact us for the first time by email or via the contact form on our website, or when you participate in a promotion (for example when you register a product for an extended warranty), we create a profile for you in our database. This profile does not include any tracking or analytics information; such data is processed exclusively on the basis of your consent and in accordance with our Cookie Policy. Any other personal data you provide to us later, such as purchases or customer service contacts, will also be stored in your profile. The legal basis for this processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, as this is necessary for the performance of contracts with you.

We retain this personal data for as long as our business relationship exists. If there are no transactions or customer service contacts for a period of three years, we will delete or anonymise your personal data, unless we are legally required to retain it for a longer period.

2.2.3 Newsletter Subscription and Analysis of Newsletter Usage

a. Subscription

If you subscribe to our email mailing list, we will use the personal data you provide, with your consent, to send you our email newsletters . These can contain product information, advertising content, special offers, as well as other information about our products and services. You must provide your email address in order to subscribe. Any additional information is provided entirely on a voluntary basis and is used to address you more personally in the newsletter or to adapt the content to your interests. The newsletters contain current news and information about our products, as well as general advice and information on topics relating to our products. The legal basis for this processing is your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We store your personal data for this purpose either (i) until you unsubscribe or (ii) for a maximum of 18 months if you have not opened any newsletter during that period. We will then delete or anonymise your personal data, unless we are legally obliged to retain it for a longer period.

You may withdraw your consent at any time, without giving any reason and with effect for the future, by unsubscribing from our email newsletter. You can unsubscribe using the unsubscribe link at the end of our email newsletters or via our contact form.

b. Analysis of Newsletter Usage

We continuously strive to improve our service. To this end, we analyse the performance of the email newsletters we send, for example whether the email addresses provided are reachable, whether the newsletter has been opened, which links within the newsletters have been used, and whether there are any responses or returns ((automatic) replies, error messages, etc.). The legal basis for this processing is your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

We keep your personal data for this purpose for a period of two years. We will then delete or anonymise your personal data, unless we are legally obliged to retain it for a longer period.

2.2.4 Web Analytics and Tracking

We use web analytics and marketing technologies on our website (e.g., Google Analytics 4, Meta Pixel, TikTok Pixel) to analyse user behaviour and improve our services. The processing of such data is carried out exclusively on the basis of your consent pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. This applies both to data collected on the client side and to events processed on the server side, which may be transmitted to Google or other service providers through our tracking technology (Yireo). In addition, we use DotDigital for tracking activities related to email communication and CRM, such as analyzing interactions with our newsletters and the associated user behavior on our website, provided that you have given your consent for this. Further information, including details on how the Usercentrics CMP, DotDigital, Google Consent Mode, and the categories and purposes of the technologies used operate, can be found in our Cookie Policy.

In addition to browser-based cookies (e.g. the Meta Pixel), we may use secure server-side tracking technologies (such as the Meta Conversions API). These technologies allow us to send limited event data directly from our systems to Meta to improve advertising accuracy and reduce reliance on browser cookies. These technologies are only activated where you have provided consent for targeting cookies.

2.3 Consent of Minors

Persons under the age of 16 may not provide us with personal data without the prior consent of their parents or legal guardians.

2.4 Where You Have Given Consent: Right to Withdraw Consent

Where your consent is the legal basis for the processing of your personal data, you may withdraw your consent at any time without giving reasons. Please note that the withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
